Krav Maga Levels
Level 1
Level one is designed for new Krav Maga students. It teaches the essential basics of fighting. Students learn an effective fighting stance, and striking techniques like, punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. Level 1 classes also involve some basic positions for moving and fighting on the ground. Specific techniques in Level 1 focus on defending against chokes, headlocks, and wrist grabs, as well as defending against punches. Students training an average of two or three times per week can be ready to test for KM Level 2.
Level 2 (Yellow Belt Students)
At level 2 students will continue to review and hone skills learned in KM level 1. Level 2 introduces more advanced striking techniques like hook punches, uppercuts, and focus mitt combinations. Self-defense techniques in Level 2 focus on bearhugs, headlocks, and defending against pins on the ground. Students learn to improve timing, movement, and ability to create effective striking angles. A student training an average of two to three times per week can be ready to test into KM Level 3 in about six months.
Level 3 (Orange Belt Students)
Third level Krav Maga classes sharpen intermediate techniques and begin advanced training like full-contact sparring. Students continue to refine their strikes, defenses against strikes, and ground fighting. Some weapons defenses are also introduced. Students training two to three times per week can expect to be eligible to test into KM Level 4 in about nine months.
Level 4 (Green Belt Students)
In advanced Krav Maga classes students learn advanced tactics. They also apply their skills and tactical knowledge to increasingly difficult, and dangerous, situations. Weapons defenses are a foundational part of Level 4 self-defense classes. Advanced striking and full-contact sparring, and ground fighting are also a mainstay. Students training two to three times per week can expect to be eligible to test for KM Level 5 in about a year.
Level 5 (Blue And Brown Belt Students)
These upper-advanced level Krav Maga classes are where students become skilled fighters. Students will encounter the entire curriculum of fighting, ground fighting, third-party protection, and defense against all kinds of weapons.
Law Enforcement (Sworn Officers Only)
Our Law Enforcement Krav Maga self-defense course teaches law enforcement and military personnel the principles of Krav Maga that can protect them in the line of duty. Lessons include defense against a variety of armed and unarmed attacks, and use of force issues will be incorporated.
Krav Maga Kids Self-Defense (Krav Maga Worldwide™ Youth Program)
Our krav maga classes for kids teach practical and effective self-defense principles in a fun and encouraging way. Krav Maga classes bring kids to a high level of proficiency in a relatively short amount of time. Kids classes are open to kids between the ages of 5 and 13 at a variety of levels.
